The first topic of many that I would like to discuss is the growing concern regarding identification and travel. According to the Department of Homeland Security, starting January 22, 2018, all air travelers will be required to have identification that meets the REAL ID Act requirement. Currently, there are states that are compliant, have extensions, or are non-compliant with the Real ID Act requirements. You can review whether your state has met the requirements at www.dhs.gov/current-status-states-territories. The Department of State is encouraging air travelers to apply early for a passport so there are no concerns or problems when traveling within the United States.
